Online Sales

We’ve been super busy in the DagsDesigns Skunkworks.

As many of you know we’re entering a new era of 3D design and printing dummy engines and other scale accessories for RC enthusiasts.

As we scale up please be patient with us.  As I’ve said on my social feeds:

  • This is not my full-time job
  • We print as we get orders
  • We’re as excited as you are to see these designs come to life

Thank you for all the support and encouragement in making this dream a reality.  We’re excited you’re along for the ride.

We’ll post here from time to time but you can also follow progress on the Facebook Page and YouTube Channel.

Rock On!

Over the last few years I have received many e-mails about design, what makes a designer, how design works, and how I became a designer.

I have decided I will do a series of post (4-5 parts) which will follow how I feel I became a designer. I know many will say ” you are not a designer Damon as you have no formal schooling or training” all I have to say to that is Bollocks!!

I plan on creating a few slides and maybe even a few videos. This will take some time as I am deep in new exciting challenges with my new job.

So stay tuned and I hope to share some fun design excitement!!

Cheers, DAG

My Designs being used by Universities.

I found out something very cool. A student at a university in Mexico reached out to me about my B36D flap design. He shared that his professor had been using my designs I have posted on youtube in their studies of Aviation Designs. He then shared that they were given a assignment to design their own B36D flap. It is very humbling to think my designs may be shaping young minds in Aviation.

I am posting a few of the pictures he sent me.

C130 (160″) Update

The C130 is still on schedule for a March 2015 test flight. If weather permits, mid March will be taxi testing and then around the last week the test and shake down flights. The project is moving along very well. With the help of a few pals we are now designing our own micro sequencers that will operate all the jack screws on the landing gears. We plan to have all gear design done by November 1st. In November we will start on the motor nacelles and wings.   The finial mating of the two fuselage halves should happen by mid December.

A320 Construction set for Summer 2015

I have had many ask why I have not designed and built a large EDF (electric ducted fan). The biggest reason is large EDF units are terribly expensive, plus they just are not big enough. A few years ago I had a bunch of 18-12 props left over from testing on my B-36 so I designed a make-shift (large) fan for a EDF unit which would be 12″ in diameter. While the test went well the fan was destroyed in testing. The picture attached is of the #2 test fan which never got tested (shown without hub), but the #1 fan gave me enough data to show me that my design and idea may work. The rendering is that of a fan unit which would go on a 200″ span A320.
